What a fun evening I had with my daughter Megan, we went to the Lou Lou Shop 'Til You Drop Event at Limeridge Mall... I decided to wear what would definitely be a shopping uniform for me, it is a go-to outfit "recipe" that works every time ~ skinny denim (Old Navy $18), a floaty top (Old Navy $4) and a patterned or bright scarf (H&M $10) paired with boots (Sterling $80) or ballet flats... Meg wore her new coral jeans from Forever 21 and a cute cream oversize knit top with her Tom's (Meg has a great sense of style, she always looks effortlessly cool!) There was a good turn out of people and lots of freebies being handed out throughout the mall... We each also received a swag bag with some fun goodies and coupons and there were discounts all over the mall, although I only bought 2 belts from Old Navy ( which I love!!) and they were $6 each (yay) and Meg bought a cute cropped sweater for $18 from Old Navy also. I love an evening of shopping with my girl, lattes in hand and we perused for hours... We also ran into a few girlfriends at the event, the lovely and stylish Lourdes and Chantel (and adorable baby Alexis) in Old Navy, they were bargain hunting and enjoying the sales as well! I hope you ladies found some great deals... Did anyone else hit the mall tonight too?
I feel every woman should have access to a fabulous wardrobe, great hair and pretty makeup on any budget! And I can help any gal achieve this!! This is the story of all of my favourite things ... fashion, shopping, makeup, shoes, purses, boots, jewellery, hair products, pretty things, celebrities, trends ... and my endless quest for the ultimate bargain ...

Make A Statement

I adore Olivia Palermo's style, she always looks so amazing... Olivia is totally classic and chic but she likes to mix in trendy pieces to create her own signature look. One of her go-to pieces is a statement necklace, this is a must have for every gal and you don't have to spend a fortune... I found these 4 fabulous necklaces on the forever21.com website today and are you ready for this... they are all $10.80 each!! You can look cute and casual in something as simple as a pair of jeans and a cute striped tee but when you add a chunky statement necklace into the mix you look instantly cool and fashion forward!! They are also fantastic paired with a summer dress or a crisp white blouse, the options are endless... This is a great trendy piece that you can affordably add to your wardrobe (perhaps you'll even buy 2!) Will you be rocking a statement necklace this season too?

1. Fierce Fringe Necklace $10.80
2. Metallic Gold Coin Necklace $10.80 Dimpled Geo Necklace $10.80
3. Blooming Garden Necklace $10.80
4. Dimpled Geo Necklace $10.80
Sexton In The City ~ What I Wore

I was so thrilled to do a segment with Kate Carnegie this past Saturday on men's summer fashion and we pre-taped a demonstration of me doing a sock bun... I hope it helped those ladies that were still struggling with it! I wanted to wear bright colour and I think I achieved that, I wore these great Gap slim fit red pants ($49) and a hot pink Forever 21 blouse ($16) I absolutely love this colour combo it's so fun! I added a green cuff bracelet and my new nude wedge heels from The Bay (Fergie) and the finishing touch.... My sock bun! On a side note I have to say I was drooling over Kate's blush peplum Zara blazer, love her style!!

Purple Pants
I was excited to check out Marshalls when they opened up in Hamilton a few weeks ago, I spent hours perusing the store and although I only made one purchase I was thrilled to find these purple jeans for $20... Yes I know I have a bit of an obsession with bright coloured denim lately! Have you given in to the coloured denim trend? Even if you buy one fun colour to add to your wardrobe it is such a great look and they are really easy to wear, you can simply mix and match your neutrals with them for fabulous fashion forward looks... So what colour denim are you rocking this spring?

Perfectly Pink
I just bought these hot pink pants from H&M this week for $30, they are a little softer than denim and super comfortable! There are so many great options to wear with them but today I thought I would go for a monochromatic look, I added a green cuff bracelet for a fun colour pop and these are my new Fergie wedges ( I LOVE them!) What do you think of this look, would you wear head to toe pink?

Pout With A Pop
We are seeing pops of colour everywhere this spring and it's not strictly a trend for our wardrobe, it is also a trend in makeup collections right now... I am so crazy about the gorgeous hot pinks and bright melon lip colours available, they instantly make you look chic and feel oh so pretty!! I am going to show you an easy makeup look that you can do too featuring the perfect hot coral lipstick from Joe Fresh called Melon!! When you are going for something as bold as this on the lips I like to stick with a neutral eye makeup and a pretty bronzy glow, you want the lip colour to be the standout and everything else to simply compliment the hue. All of the makeup I used is from the Spring 2012 Joe Fresh Beauty line which is available for an amazing price point and the quality is fabulous. Here is how I created my look in 5 easy steps:
1. Start off with clean moisturized skin and apply your regular concealer and foundation
2. Use the Bright Burst Face Palette and apply the cream highlighter on your cheekbones then swipe the shimmery peach blush onto the apples of your cheeks
3. Still using the Bright Burst Face Palette apply the cream shimmer eye shadow to your lids from the lash line to the crease of your lid (use an eyeshadow brush to pat it on gently) then layer the powder shadow on top of the cream for a pretty shimmery taupe shade
4. Curl your eyelashes (I love the Shu Uemera eyelash curler available at Shoppers Drug Mart) then apply 2 coats of Joe Fresh Lash Plump to your top lashes and one coat to the bottom
5. Finish the look with Joe Fresh Matte lipstick in Melon then pat on a layer of the bright melon gloss from the Bright Burst palette, blot and pucker up!
Makeup pictured is all from Joe Fresh:
Matte Lipstick in Melon, $6
Lash Plump Mascara, $8
Bright Burst Palette, $12
