Feeling Zooey

A major sourse of style inspiration for me is Zooey Deschanel, I adore her sweet and chic ensembles and I'm on a life long mission to have her bangs!! Zooey does alot of great dresses in an a-line silhouette, fitted on top and nipped in perfectly at the waist, this is a very flattering look for most woman and never goes out of style. I think she really knows how to make retro style look totally modern and fresh! I decided to try out my hot pink tights after seeing this photo of Zooey, I bought them at Payless for $6! For that price I figured if they didn't work than it wouldn't be a huge loss. I never spend a ton on really trendy items, I prefer to invest more in the classics. So I have to say I am loving this look, I feel super girly!! My two-tone open toe heels add a little extra pizazz to the tights too without taking it over the top. And the best news is this is another outfit for under $100! My dress was $24.90 at H&M, tights $6 at Payless and shoes (end of season last year) $44 at Aldo.

Inspired

As I've mentioned before I love to look at my favourite celebrities for style inspiration and Rachel Bilson is definitely in my top ten. This was an outfit she wore a few months ago and when I bought these boots yesterday it reminded of this look... I added a more punchy scarf and my jeans are a brighter red but all the elements are there. Do you look at celebs for style ideas? There are many too early mornings when I just can't come up with an outfit so I'll quickly google a celebrity who's style I love and depending on where I'm going and the season I'll add that to the search as well and let me tell you it really helps a gal out!! On a side note I bought these boots yesterday at the Nine West outlet in Niagara Falls for $28!! Aren't they adorable!?

Spotted!

If you haven't noticed, I have a major affection for animal print... Especially leopard! But not in the Peggy Bundy way, in the chic cool fun way! Lol. This top was a F21 find a few months ago, it was $14.90 and it is a soft sweatshirt material. Totally cute and super comfy, is there a better combo than that?! These are my go to skinny jeans from H&M, at $49.90 the price is right and I love the way they fit my body. I bought 2 pairs and had one hemmed to the ankle and kept these ones full length so I can cuff them. I like this look with either sweet little ballet flats or sexy pumps. Do you do the cuff thing with your denim too?

White Out

I am totally obsessed with coats, all colours, lengths and styles! I'm a smitten kitten!! This white wool coat was a killer buy from Old Navy last winter for 75% off the original $109.50 price!! A white coat is totally chic, although I recommend avoiding any beverage or food consumption when wearing it! unless it's water!! lol... It may not be the most practical coat to own but I would suggest that every gal has one in her closet. Look for end of season sales, right now is the perfect time to find one for a fraction of the regular price. My leopard scarf was $14.90 at H&M and my Nine West red pumps were on sale for $40 at The Bay (another end of season purchase last winter!) Another look for under $100!!

Combat Girl

A recent purchase I just made is this pair of Steve Madden Troopa boots, I ordered them through eBay for $70! They retail here at Town Shoes for $130 so I was quite pleased with that price. I love to look at celebrity style for inspiration and these pics show some really cool outfit options. I will pair mine with my skinnies or tights and a chunky knit sweater or shawl cardigan for a great day look. I also love the look of these tough boots paired with a sweet floral dress or floaty skirt with thick opaque tights... Ooh the options are endless... Now my only dilema is whether to buy them in brown as well!

Poncho Weather

I have been loving this unusually warm weather we've been having lately, it's been almost too warm for a coat so I've been doing the layering thing most days... I bought this poncho from Old Navy for a steal at $15, I also bought it in cream and black (of course!) and it is the perfect layering piece for a day like today. I was heading out to lunch with the hubby and even he commented on how cute my outfit looked, he was also my photographer today!! Notice I am also wearing heels, I'm quite proud of myself. Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend!
