Jen's A Pink Mess

When I saw this pic of Jennifer Aniston on the red carpet in Paris I thought to myself "why oh  why?!" I think this Christian Lacroix frock is ill fitting and the colour and sloppy draping are just a big ole' mess... I absolutely love Jen's everyday style and she looks fantastic in simple classic sheaths, so I guess the lesson is "if it ain't broken than don't try to fix it!" Sometimes fashion risks just don't work out :)

A Hint Of Leopard

This great day to night outfit that Heidi Klum is wearing out on Saturday afternoon shopping with a friend is absolute perfection! There are some basic outfit ingredients here that every gal should own and they include a great pair of black skinny jeans, a boyfriend blazer and a killer pair of gladiator heels... Then throw some trendy animal print in the mix simply with a leopard tank and voila sexy chic! I found a tank similar to Heidi's on the Forever 21 website for only $8.90 and it comes in a variety of colours so for that price you can grab a few... Just say meow!

Taylor Dresses Up

I love a dress for any occasion, I have at least 20 in my closet for all seasons in all different lengths and styles... I love how Taylor Swift layered her dresses with cute cardigans (a staple in every gals closet!) for cooler weather and than paired her adorable polka dot sundress with metallic flip flops and braided headband... I am also crazy about the cognac leather hobo bag she is sporting in all these pics, I think I have a similar one tucked away in my closet that I need to dig out... 

Green With Envy

I came across this picture today while searching for green eye makeup looks... First of all this model's hair is to die for, the colour is beautiful and her straight long locks with matching fringe are totally chic and sophisticated... I am really loving her jade eyeshadow and that it doesn't look overdone which can be especially hard to pull off when using colours like greens or blues, this is a look I am going to try on myself... I will post a pic of me when I do it! Remember to keep the rest of your makeup neutral when you are using colours on your eyes to avoid looking clownish and overdone...

Ok I realize we are just getting into Spring fashion and hopefully Spring weather soon enough but I had to post these amazing looks from the Burberry Prorsum's Fall 2010 collection straight from the runway (all hail to Christopher Bailey!) ... The colour combinations are absolutely perfect for Fall with rich berry shades, deep mustard, classic army green and a splash of punchy pink... On a side note I must have the budget friendly version of the black buckle boots they are wearing!!

How Very Perry

I absolutely love Katy Perry, she is a constant source of inspiration for me with her fearless and fun takes on makeup and fashion... This is one of my favourite pics of her, I love the hot pink stained lip and her super full thick lashes are to die for.. This would be a dream celebrity client, I would love to do Katy's makeup, I think she can pull off anything from demure to dramatic and I like it!

Winging It

This is one of my favourite makeup looks ever, I am a sucker for black liquid eyeliner anytime.. Winged liner is a fantastic day or evening look which works on all ages and can easily be finished off with black mascara, pink blush and a nude gloss.. Keep it thinner and more refined for daytime and thicken it up and wing it out farther for a night on the town, try a waterproof formula to avoid looking like a raccoon..

Dressing In The Dark

I have to wonder what Jessica Simpson was thinking when she put together this ensemble... Maybe she thought putting on every trendy item she owns all together would actually look good? I like each piece individually but a fedora, giant hoodie, destroyed denim, fur hood parka and the kicker "cowboy boots" make her a major fashion no no!!! Someone call a stylist pronto...

Vintage Vixen

I know some may disagree but I think Nicole Richie looks adorable in this printed vintage maxi dress.. I love this whole look, her sleek hair and perfectly coiffed fringe compliment the 60's inspired dress.. The gold accents she used with her jewelry are just enough to glam up her ensemble.. Very Twiggy-esque!!

Green Goddesses

Here are some of my favourite green dresses from the red carpet over the last year in honour of St.Patty's Day.. I am heading out later with friends for a few pints and I have the perfect little green spring jacket to wear for the festivities, do you think leopard works with green? I just purchased and amazing print scarf from H&M this week that I am dying to wear out! Happy St. Patty's, every gal is a little Irish today :)

Kate Beckinsale is such a beautiful woman, she is the ultimate bombshell on the red carpet and has a little bit of old Hollywood glamour about her... But on the flip side Kate does casual cool with such ease in simple basics like great jeans and basic tanks, she pairs them with cool boots and belts and always has a designer handbag on hand... I totally love these white boots and belt she is wearing in this pic and she can rock a slouchy knit hat in L.A. weather like no other!

It is the time of year when all the cruise and resort wear comes out for those lucky enough to take a holiday and beat the winter blahs... I like to buy a few summer pieces this time of year to out away because as soon as the warmer weather hits things tend to get picked over quickly... What Will Sandra Wear?

First time Oscar nominee and award show darling Sandra Bullock will be a sight to see on the red carpet tonight! She has been hitting it out of the ballpark on the red carpet, her choice of bold colour in the sparkling purple Bottega Veneta ballgown that she wore to the Golden Globes to the incredibly sexy black Alexander McQueen dress that she wore to The SAG Awards this movie star has some serious style... Her hair and makeup are always polished and never overdone, she has a natural beauty that is played up in her red carpet style... I am certain that Sandra will not disappoint tonight and she is favoured to take home a golden statue, I hope it doesn't clash with her dress!!

And The Academy Award Goes To...

The Oscars are on tomorrow night and I can hardly wait! This is absolutely one of my favourite red carpet events to watch, it is so much fun to check out each starlet and drool over the gowns and the hair and the makeup and of course all of those diamonds... It is a visual delight for any fashion loving lady, I posted a few pics from Oscars past of gowns that I really loved but it was so hard to choose... Who are you most looking forward to seeing tomorrow? I have tried to explain to my husband that this is my equivalent to Superbowl, but I don't think he quite gets it!

When I saw this picture this morning I was left wondering why, why oh why with access to every designer under the sun would she have chose this ensemble?? I love Rihanna and I admire her bold fashion risks but I think this outfit definitely crosses the line of fashion and heads over to space age in this emerald green jumpsuit! I love how Keira Knightly played with patterns with her ensemble... She is in head to toe Miu Miu at a luncheon in London yesterday and she looks chic and sophisticated in her pencil skirt and blouse combo... Her shoes are killer and the bag is adorable!! I am not sure I love her hair do though, it looks a little thrown together, I think her look would have been a little more polished with a soft curl up-do or sleek and straight down with a side bang... Braided Babes

Ooh I love a new hair trend and the unfussy side braid is my new favourite look! This is a fun departure from the front french braid and this look still has that chic boho flair... I think this adorable do works best with a long side bang and a little texture in the hair... Even better the added bonus is this is a cute quick out the door look when you're in a rush :)
