Classic Clean and Polished

These three words sum up the look on the red carpet last night... I thought the ladies were stunning, we saw lots of finger curls, classic chignons and polished pony tails along with matte red lips, long lush lashes and perfectly glowing skin... For the most part the theme seemed to be totally refined elegance... Here are some of my favourite hair and makeup combos!! Who were your favourites last night?

What Will They Wear

With the Oscars just days away I am soooo super excited to see what the ladies will be wearing on the red carpet... I am looking for some of my favourite fashionistas like Anne Hathaway who is also hosting to have some amazing wardrobe changes and the always stylish Natalie Portman and Michelle Williams among the many beautiful ladies whose dresses I will be drooling over!! I think we will see very polished retro hair and makeup with gowns ranging from beaded shimmering shifts to bold bright colour and cool metallics... These are some amazing gowns from Elie Saab, Valentino, Zuhair Murad and Jason Wu that we may just see on Sunday... It's the Superbowl of fashion!!

Comfortable Cool

I am a sucker for a cable knit sweater, I just recently purchased two from The Gap online (pictured) in cream and in dark charcoal! They look adorable with skinny jeans or with shorts and tights, they are a winter must have for every gal's closet! are you a sweater girl too?

Hair Icon

I think Jennifer Aniston has the most coveted hair of our generation, myself included definitely asked for "The Rachel" back in the early nineties! Jen recently sported a blonde shoulder length bob on the red carpet (far right) and I think she looks fabulous, I have been toying with the idea of a new haircut but I think I would need to grow my bangs out before I consider chopping it off!! I had to post this pic of these three lovely ladies at the Calvin Klein runway show during New York Fashion Week... Kerry, Zoe and Kate look the epitome of chic, I love all of their looks they are so classic and beautiful... The ensembles look like colourful bookends with a classic black dress in the middle...Ahhhh what a dream life to be there!

Citrus Style

Well the weather today was warm enough to remind me that spring is around the corner ( I hope!) SO I thought I would look around for some inspiration for my spring wardrobe, I am always drawn to colour when this season emerges and I am loving the bright orange and melon hues we are seeing everywhere... These ladies are all rocking orange mini dresses and I think they look fabulous, don't you?? I am looking for a bright coloured mini of my own and I think this may just be a colour I need!!

Grammy Gasp

Why oh why do some celebrities feel the need to look completely absurd on the red carpet!!! I guess it gets us talking about them, but I think there is only room for one Lady Gaga... Nicki Manaj looks so silly with the head to toe leopard ensemble and matching leopard stripe in her hair, she is such a beautiful girl but this looks plain old tacky!!

Scarlet Fever

Christina Hendricks is so gorgeous, I have recently become a huge Mad Men fan and she is a huge reason why I love it!! Her perfect skin, incredible figure and bombshell red hair are envied by women everywhere... I love these two makeup looks she recently wore on the red carpet, her dramatic eyes and soft lips are so pretty and she pulls of a red pout with style... How do I get her hair colour!? I want it!!

Burberry Babes

Could these ladies look any cooler? I am in love with this Burberry Prosum coat, I think there is nothing more chic than a classic wool coat in navy... I love how they both went for different looks with their coats, Cameron looks totally cute with her flat brown riding boots and cream scarf and Gwyneth looks New York chic with her all black ensemble and booties... Fashion like this makes these cold winter months bearable!

Ok the title is totally lame but I wanted your attention! Sorry for the lack of posts but I have been crazy busy with work... no excuse I know, I'm back my fellow fashionistas!! So I came across these pics of Nicole today and I am so digging her cat eye Chelsea glasses from her sunglass collection from The House Of Harlow... How do I get my hands on anything from her line here in Canada? I have had some luck on ebay but I wish we had it here!! I guess I should start looking for a reasonable lookalike pair... Are you feeling these shades?

Bombshells

Oh how I love big hair! And not Snooki big but Bridget Bardot sexy full hair... It seems like we are seeing less of the straight long locks that were once dominating the red carpet and runways for much more of the tousled soft waves with lots of volume... This is such an easy look to create, you simply need a brush or comb to tease the hair at your crown and hairspray to hold it! Pin it back all the way or half for a fun work look or wear it down for a night out with the girls!!
