Her classic red lip which she has done in the perfect crimson glossy shade for her complexion while keeping the rest of her look understated is totally gorgeous but on the other hand I love her dark rimmed smokey eye and nude lip, this is the perfect look for a night out on the town... Olivia Palermo is probably one of the most stylish woman I have ever seen, she is absolutely beautiful and with her gorgeous figure she can really wear just about anything! She loves to mix and match prints and fabric textures and she also does minimal chic to perfection, I love how she incorporates a trend into her ensembles but still manages to keep her look subtle and totally fabulous... I have also noticed that Olivia remixes her staples, she will be photographed wearing the same black fur vest 4 different ways and totally rock it and check out these killer Proenza Schouler gray lace up booties that she has dressed up for day and night! Olivia's style is truly inspiring, this girl has "it"!

I am totally loving the skinny cargo pants that we are seeing on every celebrity and fashionable gal this season! Julianne Moore is rocking her J Brand $230 "Houlihan" cargos two ways, casual with flats and a tee for day and sexy with stilettos and a flirty top for night... While perusing my usual online shopping sites today I found these adorable skinny cargo pants on the oldnavy.ca website on sale for $22! They come in olive green or a deep grey taupe colour and for that price I decided to get both colours!! Sooo will you wear skinny cargos this season?

Check out H&M this weekend, they are offering 30%-50% off of a huge selection of their Fall and Winter coats!! They have some great military inspired warm wool coats in classic hues like black and camel or fire engine red for the more daring fashionista... I also have my eye on a dark green khaki belted parka with a detachable faux fur collar, this is the time to buy a coat or two for an awesome price and while the selection is still plentiful!

Bob Babe

Nicole Richie recently showcased her new much shorter do and I think she looks amazing! Nicole has tried it all from bleach blonde to rich black locks and she has had every length from waist long extensions to an almost pixie cut a few years ago... I think this sleek bob looks fantastic on her with her petite frame and heart shape face this is the ideal cut for her and her honey blonde looks natural and is so flattering with her skin tone... P.s. Nicole's Missoni dress is absolutely to die for!!

Blake Lively has the most beautiful hair in Hollywood, she always has that perfect just left the beach wave happening and her blonde has the perfect balance of golden highlights... This look is a departure from her signature long flowy locks and I love it, she looks incredible with this sleek chignon for the red carpet... This look can be done simply by creating a dramatic side part then spraying your hair and pulling it back into a low ponytail, tease the pony a little and with bobby pins secure the hair by wrapping it around in sections and into a full bun... Viola, you are ready for a night on the town like Blake!!

I love Kate Bosworth's style, she has fun with fashion and Kate can go from a super cool street style to a chic red carpet look with ease... She has been spotted around town rocking these Isabel Marant suede booties with cute summer skirts and shorts and flirty dresses but they can easily be transitioned into her fall wardrobe when paired with black tights or cuffed boyfriend jeans... I found a similar pair on the aldoshoes.com website for $60 and these Quellette booties come in cognac or black suede, plus they are a little more affordable than the $575 price tag on Kate's boots! I just had to post this pic of Michelle Williams and although some people may not be a fan of her new do I think she looks totally amazing... Not many women can pull off this edgy white blonde colour but this is gorgeous with her skin tone and the short pixie like haircut completely suits her... Her chic red lace dress is a modern day homage to June Cleaver and I must say those leopard shoes are to die for!! This is red carpet perfection!

Here Comes The Sun

I am always on the hunt for the perfect bronzer, as a makeup artist it comes with the territory... In my work kit I have always had MAC Golden bronzer, I find it is universally flattering and doesn't give you that orange colour that so many bronzers do! I also try to stay away from really shimmery bronzers unless it is for a night on the town, for day wear it looks overdone and the shimmer can sit in every fine line which is never good in sunlight! I was so excited yesterday while perusing the cosmetic aisle at my Shoppers Drug Mart when I found this Physician's Formula Bronze-Booster pressed powder, this goes on beautifully and is totally lightweight and it's perfect for light-medium skin tones... I think this is my new favourite product and this week all Physician's Formula makeup is 20% off at Shoppers Drug Mart so it's the perfect time to try it out and to keep your summer glow from fading!

When I came across this photo of Rachel Bilson I couldn't help but think that this is my ideal fall outfit... Every girl should have these pieces in her closet and this is the perfect evening or weekend go to ensemble... This look can be played up with some great accessories and killer booties or it can be the epitome of comfortable chic when paired with adorable jewel tone flats and an oversized boyfriend tee... The basics of this look are a fitted black blazer, a great pair of boyfriend jeans and a classic black purse... Don't skimp on these key pieces, they can be incorporated into so many looks this season! I decided to cheer myself up today with a little online shopping... I have been battling a terrible head cold this weekend and thought some retail therapy may lift my spirits! And it has helped a little... I have been looking for a cozy chic cable knit cardigan and came across this one on the Old Navy website for $25, I think it will look great belted and over skinny jeans or leggings... This is the perfect transition piece to keep me warm and stylish as we go from fall to winter, now the great debate is whether to get it in cream also!

Happy Anniversary

Imagine my surprise when I opened up my anniversary gift from my wonderful hubby!! I am always talking about my quest to find the perfect riding boot and he felt that these ones fit the bill... They are simply beautiful, the rich cognac leather is so gorgeous and the fit is completely classic and sleek... These Etienne Aigner riding boots are also featured in my favourite magazine People Style's October issue!! He certainly has good taste, I think I have style trained him well!! lol

As soon as I saw this picture of Clemence Poesy (she recently played the girlfriend of Chuck Bass on Gossip Girl) I knew I had to post it... This look is so simple yet so polished and I think any gal can pull this off, the 3 elements of this outfit are a great pair of black pumps, a flirty black skirt and a simple white shirt... This is a go to outfit for an evening out or for any workday and can be played up with bold accessories or kept minimal depending on your mood... Sometimes keeping it simple is just as stylish as wearing a trendy piece anyday!

Runway Sunday

I had a fun makeup filled weekend! Sorry I had NO time to blog but I'm back now... My sister is also a makeup artist and it is so fun when we get to work together, we did the makeup for a Jason Myers (of Project Runway Canada) fashion show, there were also some other great local boutiques showcasing their beautiful clothing too!! I think we must have done at least a dozen models each and the look we created was a very dramatic dark eye done with burgundies, silvers and  black and a very nude matte lip... The result was totally glamourous and looked incredible up on the runway!!
